During the global coronavirus pandemic, nearly 200,000 people in the UK faced the loss of someone they knew on top of the usual 600,000 annual deaths from other causes. Whether the death was from Covid-19 or another cause it was likely to have been traumatic. Family and friends were unlikely to have been with loved ones when they died and they will have been cut off from their usual support networks. Physical comfort in bereavement was limited and funerals could not be attended except in very limited numbers. There will also have been increased trauma and anxiety over not knowing whether loved ones received the best care with health services being stretched.
The pandemic may seem like a distant memory for most of us but many who were bereaved will still be coming to terms with their loss. AtaLoss wants you to know that we are still here to help you.
We have put together a short video about why and how to get bereavement support easily on this website. Please share this widely and tell anyone you know about this website. It is important to get timely bereavement support however long ago people were bereaved and whatever the circumstances.
